“A.J.’s playing time was going to be stretched,” head coach Nick Sirianni remarked. “He prepared himself as much as he possibly could. You guys obviously saw the news. It doesn’t appear like he will leave. However, he battled valiantly to attempt and do everything within his power, which is not surprising given A.J.’s background. He is strong and would sacrifice anything for his friends. He won’t be able to rip it this week, regrettably.”

The 26-year-old Brown was forced to depart the Week 18 game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium due to a knee injury. Despite not being a catastrophic injury, he won’t be fit for Monday night’s game.

But if the Eagles make it to the divisional round, there’s still possibility that Brown can play. However, the Eagles must arrive there first. Leading receivers DeVonta Smith, Julio Jones, Quez Watkins, and Olamide Zaccheaus will be facing each other this weekend in the 4-5 game.
Brown had yet another outstanding season this year. With 106 receptions, he gained 1,456 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was selected to the second team of the All-Pro Pro Bowl.

This week’s encouraging injury update from the NovaCare Complex came on Thursday, when quarterback Jalen Hurts demonstrated his ability to throw the ball accurately during practice. Hurts said he shouldn’t have played in that game after suffering a right middle finger injury in Week 18.

Hurts appeared to be throwing the ball well on Thursday after practicing so little on Wednesday. Hurts made that observation to reporters during the media-accessible portion of practice, and his teammates confirmed it following practice.
The one significant uncertainty going into Saturday’s drill is over Reed Blankenship’s health as a safety. Due to a groin issue, the second-year starter has missed practice this week; however, on Friday, he worked on a side field.
