Arriving in Tyneside ahead of the Saudi contingent, the 27-year-old Brazil midfielder was one of the biggest signings made by the pre-PIF ownership. His ambition is to score goals from a forward position rather than covering the entire pitch as a box-to-box midfielder.

After a difficult beginning to his time in England, Joelinton changed his position from striker to a more significant box-to-box midfield role under Eddie Howe. Howe was the driving force behind Joelinton’s South American comeback.

Since then, JoJo has played a key role in the team’s recent successes, which have included a trip to the Carabao Cup final and a position in the UEFA Champions League for this season.

Joelinton has made 179 appearances since joining NUFC from Hoffenheim in 2019 for a then-record price for the team scored 25 goals. Joelinton gained international notoriety as a result of Howe’s coaching, and in June 2023, he made his goal-scoring debut for Brazil against Guinea.

Joelinton said, “I feel great,” expressing his hope for the club’s future. My family is happy, and I’m feeling really joyful.

Although the player is open to a summer transfer, the club is “very keen” to keep the star out of Newcastle’s hands.

In an effort to keep midfielder Joey Veerman out of Newcastle United’s hands, PSV Eindhoven is “very keen” to try to persuade him to sign a new contract with the team.

PSV Fans claim that the team is attempting to make sure they are not pressured into a sale this summer.

This week, reports in England suggested that Newcastle might make a bid for Veerman as they prepare for a busy summer following a dismal season marred by injuries this year.

They could be compelled to make additions, especially in the center of the park, as Bruno Guimaraes is rumored to be leaving the team in order to help with PSR and FFP regulations.
