The Arkansas Razorbacks’ football season opener for 2024 has been pushed up two days to Thursday night, the school said.

The initial plan was for Arkansas to play the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday, August 31, in the opening game of the 2024 season. Now, on Thursday, August 29, the Razorbacks will play the Golden Lions two days early. ESPNU will broadcast the game live, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 6:30 p.m. CT.

At Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium, the Razorbacks defeated the Golden Lions 45-3 in their one and only football game together back in 2021.

In other 2024 non-conference games, Arkansas will host the UAB on September 7 and visit the Oklahoma State Cowboys Sept. 14 against the Blazers and Nov. 23 against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

On Saturday, April 13, the Razorbacks will hold their yearly Red-White Spring Game. The game will begin at 1:00 PM ET / noon CT and be broadcast live on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.

After the Arkansas game, Arkansas-Pine Bluff will play three non-conference games: on September 7, at home against the Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes; on September 14, at home against the Tennessee State Tigers in the Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis, Tennessee; and on September 21, at home against the Central Arkansas Bears.

Kickoff for the Golden Lions’ yearly Black & Gold Spring Game is slated for Saturday, April 27 at Simmons Bank Field in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
