Next season, the Addicks hope to move up from League One to the Championship.

Jones stated, “We will bring in a number of players – we know exactly the positions we want to bring them in,” according to a London News Online story. Each and every one of those guys will be able to elevate the eleven. We have a large enough team, thus we don’t want to add more players. We will promote both our young players and those from the academy.

“I don’t like recruiting big numbers every year, so this will probably be one of our biggest summers in terms of numbers,” he continued.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals for fifteen games, and I’ve assessed those guys and they have the ability to step forward in the manner that I want us to play. We’ll be much stronger when we exit this window than when we entered it.

The former Luton Town, Stoke City and Southampton man has lifted them away from relegation danger in the third tier and has turned their fortunes around.

They are now a tough team to play against and will be confident heading into the next campaign as they look to get back to the Championship.

Charlton Athletic have some big contract decisions to make with a few players like Terell Thomas and Thierry Small due to see their current deals expire in late June.

Loan players like Panutche Camara, Freddie Ladapo, Louie Watson, Tyreeq Bakinson and Lewis Fiorini are due to return to their parent clubs.

The Addicks will need to find a replacement for key midfielder George Dobson, who has penned a pre-contract agreement with Fehervar in Hungary.

Charlton Athletic are unbeaten in their last 14 matches and drew 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury Town over the weekend. Dobson scored their goal against the Shrews.

Jones’ side have one more match to get through this term on Saturday away at Wycombe Wanderers as they look to head into the summer on a high.
