After little over 30 minutes of the Eagles’ 2-2 tie with Manchester City, Ward was substituted, and he will need to be replaced for Thursday’s Premier League matchup at home against Brighton.
Although Roy Hodgson, the boss, did not provide specifics, he did say at a press conference that Joel Ward, as I believe everyone knows, suffered an injury last weekend. We will be missing him for some time since he has had a scan. That presents a new risk for injuries.
While Eze, who made a cameo appearance in the 89th minute versus City to end a three-week absence, is fighting to get back into the starting lineup, eighteen-year-old David Ozoh shined off the bench and may earn the opportunity to continue in the starting lineup.
“Those who have sustained injuries are healing well. Ebere Eze is developing quite nicely. Really, he’s at a turning point, and we will have to decide within the next few hours (on Wednesday).
