Reading’s manager responds to rumors about administration: “There is no intention.”

After rumors of an administration surfaced in the middle of the week, Reading manager Ruben Selles has allayed concerns.

Owner Dai Yongge is considering purchase bids for the team while continuing to owe back taxes and living in constant fear of not being able to pay employees.

However, news that the club might have gone into administration by the end of the week leaked on Monday evening, according to Anthony Smith, a former sports editor for the Reading Chronicle.

This would cause the club to lose points and result in widespread layoffs as the authorities would take over the club’s daily operations until a suitable replacement could be identified.

Following the Royals’ 5-0 victory over Swindon Town on Tuesday night, Selles has subsequently denied this.

“I haven’t had any communication from the club so as far as I know there is no intention,” he stated. “However, tomorrow might be different. There is currently nothing in the administration, as far as I know.

Although the possibility of administration cannot be completely ruled out, it is believed that the club views this as a last resort and is not a matter that is of immediate concern to those in the background.
