On a challenging road trip, the Cavaliers might surge to the top of the Eastern Conference.

The two teams atop the East, the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic, will test the quietly rising Cavaliers on the road.

Even if the Cleveland Cavaliers are heating up just in time, they are still going unnoticed. The Cavs are 10-5 in their past 15 games and have won three straight, including decisive victories over the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. Even though it has been difficult to be consistent on the court, Cleveland is still going above and beyond to win.

The Cavs will play three more games on their ten-day road trip, first taking on the Orlando Magic and then traveling up the east coast to play two games against the Boston Celtics. As a result, Cleveland might accomplish something amazing before traveling back to Northeast Ohio to play the Atlanta Hawks on December 16th, possibly rising from the Eastern Conference’s bottom half all the way to the top.

Tough road trip is Cavs’ Eastern Conference measuring stick

It’s likely that you’re wondering how the Cavs are able to accomplish such a remarkable comeback. The obvious solution is for Cleveland to complete this road trip without a loss. But it might not be as easy as some might believe, given that the Magic are 10-2 at Amway Center and the Celtics are undefeated at home.

A lot of it is dependent on Cleveland’s and their opponents’ availability. Due to left knee pain, both Evan Mobley and Caris LeVert missed the Cavaliers’ victory over the Heat. LeVert, the sixth man for the Cavaliers who averages 14.9 points per game, is expected to play when the team is traveling, according to Cleveland head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. After receiving medical attention on Friday, Mobley was later seen with a sleeve on his knee. According to sources, there is genuine concern that Mobley may miss several games, which would hinder the Cavs’ chances of winning their next opponent and raise questions about Mobley’s future.

Jalen Suggs of Orlando, Cleveland’s next opponent, is questionable due to an ankle injury he sustained a few days ago against the Cavs. Markelle Fultz (knee) and Wendell Carter Jr. (finger) are both regarded as day-to-day players for the Magic. However, given that Fultz has missed the last 14 games and Carter has missed the last 17, there is grave uncertainty about either player playing versus Cleveland. Lastly, the Magic may be able to field Jonathan Isaac, who has been sidelined by an ankle injury for the past two games, when the Cavaliers visit town. The availability of all four players significantly alters the course of the game for Cleveland and may determine if the Cavs defeat the Magic twice in less than a week.
