Breaking News:Atlanta Braves Keep Managing……

It appears like AA will continue to trade until he eventually pays for that trade in Seattle. AA struck a 4-player exchange deal with the Angels late last night.

Once more, AA makes a trade driven more by money than by reputation. Max Stassi, who missed the entire previous season because his prematurely born kid spent the majority of 2023 in the NICU, will be healthy in 2024, but not for the Braves because Peanut has already revealed the dirty little secret: The second half of the equation is super utility player David Fletcher. Fletcher played a strong attacking role in 2019 and 2020, but since then, he has mostly played defense. Fletcher will be the Braves backup for the time being in almost every capacity, but I’m not sure if he won’t be transferred as well.
Tyler Thomas, who was selected in the AAA round of the Rule 5 draft and spent very little time in the Braves organization, was sent back to the Angels with Evan White and all of his leftover baggage.

With so many moving parts from the initial Mariners trade and then the trade of Marco Gonzales to the Pirates, things have gotten a little frantic on the financial front. Fortunately, there are people out there with more knowledge than me. Later, I’ll bring you an update, and my friend Boggy will have more details on the implications of all this craziness for the Braves payroll. While it’s something to watch, Tyler Glasnow is unquestionably more interesting to follow than Shohei Ohtani. The Braves would find it more agreeable if Glasnow’s trade value remained around $13 million, particularly if they were able to get Max Stassi back.
